Integration and Value Creation

A key pillar of CIRA’s success is its ability to exercise full control over its value chain, including venue construction and maintenance, content development and teacher training. CIRA’s integration strategy goes beyond the educational value chain and encompasses several key support functions that would otherwise be outsourced to third-party providers. This allows the company to deliver a more efficient and seamless service, reduce operational costs, enhance margins and extract higher value from its investments.

Construction & Maintenance

Through the company’s Construction and Maintenance Department, CIRA is able to deliver a fast and efficient construction schedule with schools becoming operational within 9-12 months and leading to c.30-35% cost reduction versus outsourcing to third party contractors.

Transportation

CIRA owns and operates the second-largest transportation fleet in Cairo in terms of number of vehicles. Managed by the company’s in-house Transportation Department and maintained by its in-house workshops, the fleet of buses covers most areas in Greater Cairo, expanding CIRA’s geographic reach, and enables the company to provide a value-added service to its students, teachers and administrative staff.

Healthcare

CIRA has committed to invest EGP 100 million over the next four years to establish CAPMED. CAPMED will be a fully licensed hospital in a prime location near the New Administrative Capital zone, and will cater to residents of the area and to the academic needs of BUC’s faculty of medicine. The hospital will allow the faculty to obtain the licenses required for recognition and will provide training for students in their fourth and fifth years of study. CIRA holds a 25% stake in the CAPMED project. Leading private sector hospital groups, including Cleopatra and Nile Badrawi, also hold stakes in CAPMED; their knowhow will help to ensure premium quality services are offered by the facility.
